It's not like the US people can't develop these innovations.... it's the "everything needs to make a profit" corporate mindset that makes things like this impossible to survive. The US government privatizes everything and those corporates run by some CEOs would like to extort as much money from the government as possible.... and eventually those innovations become ridiculously more expensive than the old ways.
